RayoOKC kick off NASL season on new Nexxfield X-Gen E2 PRO Sports Turf


Rayo OKC kicked off the 2016 North American Soccer League season on Saturday, April 2 on the new NEXXFIELD X-GEN E2™ Soccer Turf against FC Edmonton.

The NASL expansion club welcomed FC Edmonton for its historic first-ever competitive home match and will take on the Canadian side at 7pm on a freshly laid NEXXFIELD® X-GEN E2™ PRO with the new patent pending REVERSE technology turf. The new pitch was transported from Canada to Oklahoma this week and will be installed at Miller Stadium between Wednesday evening and Friday, in time for the long-awaited Rayo OKC debut.

“This top class playing surface underlines the commitment by our ownership, who are true soccer people through and through, to bring the best experience possible for Rayo OKC supporters when they come out to support us this season,” said Rayo OKC co-owner Sean Jones. “The pitch is 74 yards wide, bringing a FIFA-level professional style of soccer to Oklahoma and putting the fans close to the action, where they will almost be able to touch the game.”

Since 2001,Nexxfield has installed systems for both indoor and outdoor clubs, high schools, colleges, universities and professional clubs. The first FIFA-quality pitch was installed at the Montreal Olympic Stadium five years ago. The NEW X-GEN E2 turf for Rayo OKC is a full modular panel system design for complete mobility as desired and the conclusion of more than two years of extended R&D leaded by Frederic Vachon and Richard Dipietro’s Team and is not an ‘evolution', but the new ‘revolution' in the artificial turf industry.

Striker Georgios Samaras (Greece), striker Robbie Findley (USA), midfielder Marvin Chaves (Honduras), midfielder Derek Boateng (Ghana) and goalkeeper Daniel Fernandes (Portugal) have all played at the sport’s highest level and will display their talents on the new Miller Stadium Nexxfield pitch this season.
